Second Edition of Revised Code includes new GSRM Laws

On 9 December 2021 a royal decree was issued by Carson I to create a Revised Code for the Kingdom of Northwood-Oregon. The Revised Code includes all domestic laws for the Kingdom.  Today, two large bills creating many laws for the Kingdom were passed. The first bill, the basic laws bill, formalized many laws which would naturally be a given, relating to things like murder and theft. It also includes protections for assembly, protest, and owning private property. The second bill created many protections for those who are Gender, Sexual, and Romantic minorities. The emcompassing legislation creates a policy of the government not taking a keen interest in how it's citizens identifies or love except for making sure their rights to do so are secured.

Duchess Kaitlyn of Altissia goes on Regency

Yesterday, August 18, 2021, Duchess Kaitlyn of Altissia went on a formal leave from her duties in the Northwood-Oregonian Parliament and the Duchy of Altissia. Duchess Kaitlyn cited that she would be going on leave for business for an undetermined amount of time, which she believed would hold her from executing her duties.  The Duchess left a Regent in her stead in the form of her sister, Jocelyn, who would perform the Duchess's responsibilities in her stead. Due to the extended absence, Duchess Kaitlyn decided to grant Jocelyn the unique title of Duchess-Regent for the period of time she will hold office. Duchess-Regent Jocelyn will perform Duchess Kaitlyn's responsibilities in the Duchy of Altissia and will take her position in the Royal Deluge.

How a Misreading of Boxes Shrunk Northwood-Oregon by a Tenth

The Kingdom of Northwood-Oregon is comprised of multiple noncontiguous claims. Some of these claims are oddly shaped or only contain one house, which creates security concerns about giving away where a citizen of the Kingdom resides. This was compromised by limiting the true map of Northwood-Oregon's claims to few high ranking officials. This map of the Kingdom was created using Google Maps, in order to ensure it could be easily shared and edited when necessary between officials. The application allows for users to outline routes and areas, the latter of which was utilized to outline claims. After outlining, the application automatically provides the area of the section as well as the perimeter. The area and perimeter indicators. This is where the issue arises. The area and perimeter of the sections are indicated by either a shaded square or a hollow box with a thick outline. When Sovereign Carson decided to take the initiative to find the size of the Kingdom, they, for an unknow...

Flag Hoisted Above the Kingsland

The flag of the Kingdom of Northwood-Oregon was hoisted above the Kingsland today. The flag was the first physical rendition of the flag which was designed by Sovereign Carson Snyder. It was acquired yesterday on March 3rd 2021 and officially flown today for a short period of time above the Kingsland. After a short video was shot in which Richard Snyder I, father of Sovereign Snyder, raised the flag and a few photos were taken, the flag was lowered to be hung within the palace due to worries over a broken clip on the flag mast. The flag has been the official flag of the Kingdom since its conception. It was designed by Sovereign Snyder, the silhouette depicts the combined shape of Oregon and Northwood, Northwood being on the bottom and Oregon on the top.

French Made an Official Language of the Kingdom

The Northwood-Oregonian Parliament passed a bill today making French an official language of the Kingdom. Alongside making French an official language, the bill also includes provisions to encourage the availability of French translated public documents. The bill was voted on by the Royal Deluge this Monday, February 8th, and was sent to the Preclusionary Committee the same day. The bill was written by His Majesty The King and was seconded by Duke Nicholas Abbott of the Duchy of Clay.  The bill doesn't come as much as a surprise, as making French an official language has been a personal goal of the King for some time now. Many citizens of the Kingdom are currently in the process of learning French, or have already done so. The Kingdom also notably signed a treaty with the Kingdom of Sayville which included a French translation. While this on its own would be expected due to the Kingdom of Sayville writing the treaty and having French as an official language, the Kingdom of Northwoo...

King Announces First Legislative Elections

His Majesty The King announced elections for the Preclusionary Committee on January 8 via Discord, marking the start of the election season in Northwood-Oregon. This comes after the ratification of the Canon Governing Document , Northwood-Oregon's equivalent of a constitution. The Canon Governing Document describes the Preclusionary Committee as the lower house of Northwood-Oregon's legislature, the Northwood-Oregonian Assembly. It comprises elected representatives of the citizenry and is jointly led by the Sovereigns, the co-monarchs of Northwood-Oregon. The Committee serves as a check on the Royal Deluge -- the Assembly's upper house comprising the leaders of KNO member states -- and has the ability to reject legislation previously passed by the latter.
